Inclement Weather Policy

School closing information is available by calling (202) 337-2339 – option 9.

HTS follows the snow procedure for Montgomery County as it is announced on the radio.

• If Montgomery County is closed, HTS is closed.
• If Montgomery County closes early, parents must make arrangements to pick up their child(ren) as soon as possible.
• If Montgomery County opens late, HTS will open late, BUT NEVER MORE THAN 1 HOUR.  That is, a late opening for HTS will be by 9:10 am.  On the morning of late openings, children may not arrive before 8:30 am.

Emergency Procedures and Phone Numbers

During any school emergency, you can access a recorded message that will state the school policy, decisions and information for parents by calling (202) 338-1050.  This will be the quickest way for the school to pass necessary information out to parents, along with the HTS website.

If you need to contact the school office in an emergency situation, you may call (202) 276-7851.  Please note that this line should only be used to report critical information to the school, or when a recorded response is insufficient.
