Some of us wondered why we had come to a cathedral to view an art piece.

.

Our field trip was to the National Cathedral to view the Keiskamma Altarpiece
from South Africa. The Keiskamma Altarpiece will be on exhibit there until March 9, 2008.

The National Cathedral is the only place where it will be on exhibit on the East Coast of the United States. After March 9, it will be returned to Sourth Africa.
Our teacher said that we had done our best with our stitching and this was the greatest work we could view about stitching.
The altarpiece is a tryptich that opens several times.
.
We were most fortunate to be led in a tour by one of the National Cathedral docents.
You will view much better images of the Keiskamma Altarpiece on the web pages of the
National Cathedral
