This project had many parts. There was sketching, stitching, oil pastel drawings and a field trip at the end.

Some of us already knew how to stitch.
Other of us took stitching baby steps with this project.


First we drew our own homes in a simple way - just the basic shapes.

 
All the fabrics were one color, some of them had a simple wavy design. Eventually, we learned that these were harder to work with.

.
We had some fabric to choose from, but not a great variety.

The waves became part of the composition, and they did not always add to our design..
.
We prefered to work with the fabrics that show their weaving.
Our teachers agreed.

Some fabrics had a "silky" finish.
