Works Cited (Bibliography)
Works cited or bibliography is the formal citation of honest, thorough and universally recognized proof that we have not plagiarized (stolen) someone else’s words or ideas. A bibliography serves two purposes: it gives the reader the opportunity to evaluate the quality of the sources and it enables the reader to investigate the subject further.
At Holy Trinity School we use MLA style for our citations. When citing sources, follow the guidelines and samples listed below. Titles are underlined when writing by hand and in italics when using a computer. The first line is on the left margin. All other lines are indented five spaces. Alphabetize by the first word of the entry. Do not number.
