REGARDING MEDICINE AT SCHOOL
For your child to take medicine at school the following procedure must be followed:
IMPORTANT: ALL MEDICATIONS require THE MEDICATION FORM (see link below) signed by the DOCTOR. This includes OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATIONS.
1. NON-PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION such as Tylenol, Advil, etc. require the non-prescription medication form filled out by the parent and the DOCTOR. Medicine should be sent to the Health Office in the unopened manufacturers bottle with your child’s name on it.
If your child is prone to headaches or frequently needs such over the counter analgesics I suggest you have the doctor authorize the use of such medication for the entire school year, from the starting date of school through the last day of school. You may then send in a supply that will last your child for the year.
2. Rx MEDICATIONS require the prescription medicine form (see link below) filled out by the parent and the DOCTOR. Medication must be in the original bottle from the pharmacy with current date, with the child’s name on the label.
All medications should be taken for 24 hours at home prior to taking medication at school.
Please note all medications must be brought to the health office by an adult.
